Laura Ingraham Outs Her Employee on Air

Post by Lionman13 »

I listen every morning, and she was talking about concealed carry and guns in general. She stated that one of her dj's on air must have a Glock under his pressed shirt at all times. He stated he had a 45 Glock, reluctantly of course on air to thousands of listeners nationwide. Then, she said she liked Sig Sauer better, because it was a better made gun brand. I would feel totally exposed after that.

What does it matter, "concealed carry" is not "secret carry". I want everybody to assume that the steely-eyed and portly, older guy over there facing the door is armed and possibly dangerous...'cause I am. :tiphat:

I guess I like the element of surprise, and being on the radio it would be weird. Then again I have never liked undue attention.

Well, it would bother me mainly because there are many I know who have no idea that I carry regularly, and many that I don't want to know...

But as for anyone else, it's radio. They can't see him, and even if they did, when he goes in public, nobody will remember or recognize him, so he's just as 'secret' and concealed in public as he was before.

I'm more bothered by what she said about Glock and Sig... because she's wrong!

I've heard other conservative talk show hosts talk about their having a CHL and exercising their right to carry. Jon-David Wells comes immediately to mind. And I don't feel back about mentioning it here in public, if he's talking about it on the radio.

That said, I do think it was indiscreet of Laura Ingraham to out her employee without having first secured his permission. As to Glock vs Sig, Glocks are ugly, and Sigs are heavy. I (my wife, actually) own a Glock, and I sometimes carry it. I want a Sig. . . . . .just to round out the collection, mind you. But my guess is that Ingraham touts the alleged superiority of the Sig over the Glock because she owns a Sig. I don't think her employee needs to defend his choice of gun—ESPECIALLY since he had the good sense to pick a caliber beginning with "4". . . . . .

. . . .because everybody knows that 9mm is for girls shooting mice. . . . . .

According to WIKI, her recording studio is in Washington DC.
I wonder how her DJ got a carry permit, since DC doesn't issue any.

Hannity talks about his NY carry permit pretty regularly.

Often where she sits on the mic can be states away from her producers' location. He could have been in Georgia, Virginia, or even Texas.
But you raise a good point, if he was carrying in DC, and she ousted him, I'd be upset because you know the libs that monitor her show would call their 'buddies' in DC to hassle him, even if he was legal.

I've got a P239 that I love. Every student I've ever let qualify with it wants to buy it. I've had two go out and buy Sigs because of shooting that gun. It's not super light, but it's not too heavy to carry all day either.
I think it's got the perfect balance of weight vs. recoil. Even if it does shoot a mouse killing round. :evil2:

I've got a Sig P938 and I love it. It's small and easy to conceal. It's not my preferred position but it even carries easily in a ankle holster.

Not sure how this turned into a Sig vs. Glock discussion, but I own both, sometimes carry both (not at the same time) and love both. There are good and bad points with all my guns, but if I didn't like them, I wouldn't own them very long. The only gun I still own that I sorely dislike is my Lorcin .380. This gun is manure! The only reason I keep it is because it was my dad's before he passed.

I bought one of those in college when I was broke broke broke.
What a scary gun! (As in, scary for the owner)

You know the whole "carry chambered argument"? That gun makes it a non-argument. I'd never carry it at all... but I'd never store or carry it with a round chambered. That little plastic piece that holds the fully cocked firing pin back looks like a piece of plastic you'd pull out of a $1 fountain pen. Scary!

I also had a Jennings .22lr. LOL... same thing applies.

It matters, especially if you're a public figure, or have people that might not like you. There was a post on this forum about some anti-gun CHL guy (not Texas) who caused a school lock down and got arrested because someone anonymously called the PD on him when he entered a school. That was a pretty bad violation of the law, but that call likely worked because he was known to carry.. If you're known to carry and especially if I know exactly what you carry, it's pretty easy to lodge a very legitimate looking complaint indicating that I saw your firearm because I can describe it.

There's a new school going up around here on one of the major roads in and out. If I knew that you had a gun in the car and didn't have a CHL, I could have the PD sitting and waiting for you.
