OC event at SXSW in Austin today

Post by texanjoker »

I think this is a BAD idea. Mix 100000's of people and then people looking for attention = bad combo. If they really wanted attention they would go later in the day when more crowded. But then this is Austin and you have to keep it weird. I was gonna go and OC my Starbucks :smilelol5:

Sorry I don't have a link to the full article, but I refuse to support the Statesman that loves to be anti leo.

As the South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival gains momentum Wednesday, activists with an Austin group that supports less restrictive gun laws plan to march downtown with rifles and other long guns.
The march is scheduled to start around 11 a.m. near the Capitol and at least a dozen participants are expected to walk to Sixth Street. It will be the second such event in Austin since SXSW started, and a third is planned for Saturday.

Yea not a good idea.
If it's legal to wear a thong and ride a bicycle downtown, I don't see why you can't carry a rifle... The thong is much more dangerous.

Thanks. I did not need that picture in my head. I need to go wash my brains out.

I have a friend who will be live streaming Saturday's event. Per an email he sent recently he has press credentials and is starting streaming broadcasts (ostensibly for free) of events not generally covered by MSM. He emailed me today that there will be a "Come and Take It Austin" march Saturday he will be covering.
For anyone interested here's the link.

Frankly, if it convinces a few more Californians and New Yorkers to not "emigrate" here, I'm all for it!!!!

Hipsters at SXSW have more to fear from cars than guns.

Time until the Austin unAmerican slandersman blames police ( instead of the fleeing drunk driver) for this tragedy

Well, it seems to have gone off without a hitch.
I wonder if APD has had any sort of policy change in regard to the OC issues that resulted in arrests at the capital.
This, in conjunction with the recent YouTube video of an APD officer's reaction to a long gun downtown at Subway -- APD seems to be doing a good job on this issue.

SXSW is madness... I can't imagine how fed up officers must be with all the drunken madness night after night. Let alone we had that darn Canadian, Bieber in town...
