Son: Westboro's Fred Phelps 'on edge of death'

Post by MoJo »

Fred Phelps, the 84-year-old driving force behind the Westboro Baptist Church, is reportedly in hospice care and "on the edge of death" in Kansas, his estranged son says in a Facebook post. Nate Phelps also claims that the elder Phelps was ex-communicated by his own church last year.

I suspect that he will be wishing for a mint julep and air conditioning very soon.

I wonder why the elder Phelps was ex-communicated by his own church. He is wicked and vile man, but I hate to see anyone die and go to where he will be going if he never received Christ as his Saviour.

:iagree: being excommunicated from that church might be a good thing.

I wonder if they will be out there with the signs at the funeral. I doubt many people will show up...

The Almighty always has a way of turning a negative into a positive. The Patriot Guard Riders were formed to buffer funerals from the protesters this slime ball led and encouraged. Amen!

Somebody needs to change the title of the thread - no longer on the edge.

You know what makes me sad about the passing of this hateful, trouble-making, religious faker? It makes me a bit sad that his hateful, trouble-making, religious faker family is probably going to keep doing the same lousy stuff. Like puma guy, I'm glad that the Patriot Guard Riders formed to counter this terrible family, and that they showcase the pride and dedication of veterans. Now that man will have to answer up for what he did in this life, as we all shall do someday; its just that he's got a bit more answering to do.

This simple event has united my most liberal and conservative friends. God works in mysterious ways.
