Why the 44th?

This has always bugged me, and reading it in the other thread I figured I'd ask. Why do we call Obummer the 44th president when he is clearly the 43rd? I mean, I know it's the 44th Presidency but he is not the 44th president. Anyways, just annoys me and I'm hoping there's a logical reason I'm just missing.

Correct. That is why it's the 44th presidency and the 43rd president. My question is why people call him the 44th president. He's not. He is the 43rd.

I always thought he was the 44th. Bush II is the 43rd. Grover Cleveland's terms were not successive, so I think that may be where your math is off.

The math is not off, when counting presidents there are only 43. List me 44 different presidents if I'm wrong. Bush II is president number 42 during the 43rd presidency.

Grover Cleveland held the 22nd and 24th presidencies but he would not be counted twice when counting how many presidents we have. He held the position twice, yes, but he is still only one man.

I know, overthinking something that really has no bearing but it is what it is.

However once she is no longer your wife through divorce, she still will count as another wife down the road if you get remarried to her (even though she is the same person). I personally know someone who has bad three wives, #1 and #3 just happen to be the same person.

what i can't understand is how he's been called a president at all. I still hope that enough people will get mad enough and understand ALL the treasonous acts he and his cronies have committed. Then not only impeach them and put them on trial, but deal with accordingly to their charges and convictions. if this doesn't happen it will open the door to the next communist to come in and further strip us of our rights until it gets down to red dawn days except with our own gooberment.
