Three Year Old Girl Shot by Road Rager

Post by WildBill »

SOUTH HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) -- Police believe road rage motivated a man to shoot a three-year-old girl in the city of South Houston.

The little girl was shot while she was still sitting in her car seat on Allen Genoa and Avenue A. Police say a car was driving erratically on the street, so the girl's family decided to pass that vehicle. That's when the driver in the first car allegedly fired three shots in the air. And when both vehicles stopped at a red light, police say the shooter took aim at the family and fired several shots.

"There was a three-year-old in a car seat and apparently one of the bullets I believe grazed the right leg of the three-year-old female," said South Houston Police Chief Herbert Gilbert.
The baby is expected to be ok. The girl's parents were not hurt, and after the shooting, the gunmen sped off. Police believe the gunman was driving under the influence.

NOT OK! If the reports are accurate that person acted in callous disregard for human life. If the person can be found (I don't know how likely that is) there need to consequences of a rather serious nature for the person.

Agreed. You would think, as detailed as this account is, that they would have a great description of the vehicle/shooter or his license plate.

I saw this and thought "oh another bad day for gun owners"

Well obviously the shooter here was a bad guy, very bad guy and he had a gun. No reason to take guns away from good guys.

Also in Houston this weekend:

A home invader was shot twice in the stomach by the homeowner.

Seven people died in car accidents. One person appeared to use the car as a weapon and killed one, injured one. Four died as a result of alcohol and probably not wearing seat belts as the front seat occupants survived the head on collision. One died while fleeing police. One woman died in a four car accident on the tollway.

So cars 7, guns 0 in Houston this weekend.
