You'd think they could spare one guy to guard the guns and badges. The stuff wasn't even in lockers, just in bags in a (presumably) locked room.

Ha! Check with any school resource officer who's taking reports of items stolen from locker rooms on a daily basis! Thieves be thieves, no matter how many people are around."It could have been that they did not know there were off-duty law enforcement personnel there, but it is pretty brazen to break in to a facility during daytime hours with numerous people in the campus," LAPD Sgt.
