One For The Hairball!

Post by Jim Beaux »

The routine shooting of family dogs by police seems to becoming a "first option". There are many tactics other than shooting a family pet- (ie pepper spray, asp across the nose, etc) I am a dog lover, but not an idiot dog lover; in my book, people's safety (other than libs) ;-) rate higher than dogs.

Dogs shouldnt be allowed to run free, but they certainly should be allowed to defend the home from intruders. The situation wasnt critical. This policeman was merely conducting a civil matter and he could have given the homeowner an opportunity to control his dog.

I gotta tell ya, I did have a smirk when I watched this video. Karma came calling.

I would love to see that one. How do you shoot yourself in the knee area while trying to shoot a dog, without regard for whether the dog is aggressive or not? My money is on the scenario where he decides to draw and fire on the dog and plants his booger hook squarely on the bang switch before the gun clears the holster.

Imagine the flak that LEO's gonna get forever.

"How's your "Precious" knee?"

Hope he heals fast and learns from the experience.

Seeing those kids playing with their dog, it looks like a happy ending. Maybe the best possible when a trigger happy person is in the mix.

He was afraid of the attacking dog, and after he shot himself the dog didn't attack him or bite him or anything. Must be a scary dog.

Sounds like the LEO needs a new line of work - for more than one reason.

The canine was probably laughing to hard to continue his vicious assault.
