Cedar Park gun show April 26-27

Post by HadEmAll »

So, anybody else that attended that show notice the blocked out legitimate 30.06 sign over the main entrance, and the "revocable offense to carry here" sign inside?

I don't live there, just visiting, so have no knowledge of the building status.

But it did appear to me that the blocked out 30.06 sign meant it wasn't enforceable for some reason.

I don't know what "blocked out" means.
That sign went up at last years gun show. I inquired about it. The CPPD officer that I spoke to said that he wouldn't be making any "false arrests", but that he couldn't speak for the entire department.
The sign later was elevated and is there 100% of the time.

The event center is owned by the city. That is a 30.06 has no bearing there, but they have it up anyway and may choose to enforce.

There was cardboard or such overlayed on top of the elevated 30.06 notice. You could see the periphery of the lettering enough to know what it was.

I live within a couple miles of that center, and didn't hit the show this past weekend. Anything good there this time around? I missed it last year too.

I thought the firearm prices were pretty decent. I just didn't find anything I needed this show. The M&P Shield's I paid $450 for at last year's show were going for around $380.

I usually frequent the Saxet shows in San Antonio. Valid 30.06 there as it's held in a non-city owned venue.

I went. It was kind of "quiet" in selection...but ok on some stuff.

Bought an NAA Sidewinder, sold a Sig p290rs 9, a few rnds of ammo. No real exitement, except for two "incidents" -- One guy got busted stealing an AR-15 upper,
caught someone else with two loaded handguns, and was loading an AK-47 when he got tackled. Found a some Crack, Pills, and Marijuana on him too.

Interesting. Mine has become one of my favorite "little" guns, and what I was carrying that weekend. Along with a LCP in the pocket.

Sweet. Crack, pills, pot and loading an AK at a gun show. Yeah, this guy's a GENIUS. But if he already had two loaded firearms, he definitely went in there to cause trouble.

Any news story on this dude?

Left my EDC at home when attending the show. Next time I'm bringing it in because the line to get in was long however you could walk right up to the police inspections desk if you had a gun to declare.

And they'll unload and zip-tie it... Unless they've changed policy, which I doubt..
