Boss returns fire in shootout at construction site near UT

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Two people were hurt in a shootout just before noon at a west campus area construction site near the intersection of Rio Grande Street and MLK Boulevard.

Austin Police say the suspect, who has not yet been identified was recently fired from the construction site and returned with a gun. He opened fire on the site’s foreman who drew his own gun and returned fire, striking the suspect.

Police say the foreman has a concealed handgun license and was allowed to have the gun with him at work. Police say the suspect has recently returned to the site and has been threatening the foreman. A police report was filed.

This happened earlier in the afternoon but I haven't heard any updates on the condition of the two involved.

In lieu of not allowing you to carry, what security do they provide for you during what is increasinlgy the most dangerous task done in an office environment?

If something were to happen to you or another CHL holder because you abided by their rules and your attacker didn't, in my opinion the company should be held liable.

Current thinking is that Monday is much better. That way he can dive right into registering for unemployment and looking for another job instead of drinking, stewing, and working up a real head of steam over a weekend when he can't reach anybody about his job search.

HR actually asked me if I would do that. In fact that is how the dead weight entered my project. I put an end to it. I said no. If I owned the Co. i would not want him anywhere within the walls of my corp. that is the way i view my management role.
