Great job Good Guy! :woohoo

My concern is how he held them after he stopped the robbery. Are we allowed to put someone under a citizens arrest? Do we have the authority to hold them at gunpoint once the crime has been stopped?
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Evidently we do.

Unless he and others like him are willing forgo armed bodyguards and security when out in public, they need to shut their hypocritcal mouths.

CHL is the poor man's bodyguard.
That's a good way to put it!
I like to think that if felt the need and had the funds to hire body guards, I would still carry. :tiphat:
Me too, but that short phrase is a great way of explaining the necessary concepts to others in very few words.

My opinion on the actions of the GG based on what I know about the situation, is I wouldn't have done anything but call the cops if I had my children with me. If the situation had turned it would put them and me at risk. And we can all agree that the woman should have let go, but she clearly wasn't going to, and even though they were trying to get away, we don't know what kind of injury she could have sustained if the GG hadn't intervened.
As I've seen mentioned I wonder what could have happened if another chl holder had come up on the situation without knowing why the GG was holding 2 people at gunpoint on the ground.
All in all, the GG stopped a crime, and for that I applaud him. I'm glad it turned out the way it did. And I'm glad the defensive gun use finally got some media coverage.
I'm a mom who demands action. Single action, double action, single/double action. I'm an equal action shooter.

Right from the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure:

Title 1, Chapter 14

Art. 14.01. OFFENSE WITHIN VIEW. (a) A peace officer or any other person, may, without a warrant, arrest an offender when the offense is committed in his presence or within his view, if the offense is one classed as a felony or as an offense against the public peace.

Ronald Reagan did.

He frequently carried a snubby in his pocket while President, even while surrounded by the Secret Service. I've read that he was carrying even when visiting other countries like the UK that would pitch a fit for any of us carrying there.
