Sporting Arms Co. - Any Opinions?

Post by barres »

Located north of Dallas in Lewisville. I may have a transaction with them soon, and was wondering if any here have any opinions of them wither positive or negative. Thanks.

I have heard nothing but good things about them. They are a mail order company that is run out of their home. I have no personal experience with them.

There was another thread about them, man, and it had nothing but good things to say.
I've emailed them a few times, they're a Mom & Pop shop, outta somebody's house, good prices, real friendly.
they can take a little while to get back atcha via email, but they are thorough, and follow-up with you.

I have dealt with them and am about to order from them again. They are great to work with. I haven't found anyone who can beat their prices. I highly recommend them.

Deal with confidence. I have used them both for shipping and receiving, and they are both great people and easy to deal with. Also, their transfer prices are extremely reasonable.

I tried to use them once but they couldn't get the weapon in my time frame. They were very professional to deal with and I would have no problem dealing with them in the future.

I have purchased numerous guns from them.....they stock quite a few and of course will order you want you want. Excellent service and stand behind their sales. They sometimes take a little while to get back to you if you leave an email or voice message but Becky runs the shop herself (Tom has an "outside" job) and often has customers in the shop and the phone ringing off the hook. They also provide transfer services (I think they recently went up to $20 per gun). They will accept transfers in from an individual (with a copy of drivers license). Not all FFLs will do that.

If you order a gun from them, it will be new from the distributor, not worn from handling. And it certainly will not be shot by them or any gunstore employees (yes, it's happened to me with one of my guns that I had shipped in to a different shop which will remain unnamed).

You can order from them with confidence.

I have purchased several things from them, and also used them to do transfers. I have nothing but good things to say about Becky and Sporting Arms.

It is interesting that this thread got resurrected.

The deal fell through back in June. Like Stroo, the only reason it fell through was a timing issue. I had a small window in which I could have picked up the weapon at that time, and Becky simply wasn't able to fit into that window. And shipping would have made the deal less than ideal. Becky tried her best to help me out, but we couldn't make it work.

Fast forward to this week. I will be passing through the D/FW area next week, and Sporting Arms shows a deal on their website for a RIA Tactical that I want. This time, we have enough time to get things in order, so I will pick up the RIA on Wednesday.

Becky is very nice and will try her best to meet your needs. Though I have yet to meet her and am also yet to complete a transaction with her, I feel confident that I will be pleased with the whole deal. I'll let you know more after the transaction is completed.

They have the RIA Tactical 5" for $418 + 8% tax. I could beat the price on the 'net, but I like to keep my money (somewhat) local when I can, and I prefer to see what I'm buying before I buy it.

If you're looking for the RIA's on their website, search under Armscor pistols. They're listed as RI Tactical 5", RI GI 5", etc.

I have had at least a dozen dealings with Sporting Arms. Becky and Tom are some of the finest people I have dealt with in the firearms industry, and I will continue to happily spend my money there.

The transaction went very smoothly, even though Becky is having some medical problems. I will post a few details in the Prayer Requests forum. Tom was filling in. Very nice people. I also got to handle a Les Baer while Tom found my RIA. I hope to do business with them again, soon.

Oh, I forgot to mention that they have the best price I have found on Wilson 47D mags. $24 each + tax. I picked up a couple.
