Utah LEO shoots drunken gunwielder in E.R. waiting room.

The above video is 8 minutes, 43 seconds long. Much of it is a little boring, but it does
include the critical moment when the LEO could have been shot, but beats the BG
with faster trigger time.

A drunken man wielding a handgun is demanding attention in a Logan, Utah emergency room
reception area.

Luckily there are some armed LEO's nearby guarding a patient. One LEO gently opens the
door leading to the armed BG, effectively uses a column for a bit of cover, and drops the BG
after the BG pointed his gun in the LEO's direction. The LEO fired 4x, hitting him 3X.

Even though hit 3x, probably with a proper defensive caliber, the BG will recover from his wounds.

Edit added: Language in the video is NSFW, not suitable for 10 year old daughters. Sorry I did
not add this caveat when first posting this.

I sure hope the person in that reception window was not hurt. The LEO was shooting directly toward that person. (LEO had no choice)

That LEO didnt mess around. Impressed by his "taken care of business" manner. :tiphat:

Beware, Language NSFW or those sensitive to foul language!!!!!!

It's amazing how compliant he became once he was shot and dealing with grown men with guns instead of a person behind the counter. Sorry scumbag.

Yes, transport time from scene to ER is greatly minimized. (Altho in this case they flew him to another hospital for further treatment. Guess this wasn't a trauma center.)

Interesting. It sounds like it was the officer's fourth shot that went into the back area. I would have thought it was one of his first three rounds. I wonder where it ended up? From the puff of drywall dust it did look like it was headed directly at that rolling metal cabinet the security guard was hiding behind.

I'll bet that security guard was happy reinforcements were (inadvertently) pre-positioned on scene.

Thank goodness this did not take place in S. Texas. ALL of our ER waiting rooms are at least half full from early morning until dusk. Then the people that use the ER as their family doctor start arriving. In the past eight months, I have been in the waiting rooms of two different ER's, for a total of five visits, late in the day due to my wife's stroke

Most times every seat is taken, and more than a few 'borrow' blankets to make beds around the waiting room. For some reason each 'patient' has at least four family manners in attendance.

This particular ER has 24 treatment rooms, more than adequate staff. They are just overwhelmed when it starts getting dark outside.

If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

That video provides a good reminder of the difference between cover and concealment.
