I don't want to carry it before I run some ammo through it, but I do have it in my pocket as we speak. I also bought a Blackhawk pocket holster for now. I will most likely get a better holster as time permits. The P938 that I bought is not listed on the Sig website though. Mine is the engraved one.

I'm trying to decide what ammo to carry in it now. I carry Speer Gold Dot short barrel rounds in my CDPII ultra. The shop guy said he used Civil Defense ammo in his but these are +P and I don't know how that will work in such a small gun. Any advice on which rounds would be appreciated.

It's hard to beat Gold Dots even in 9mm. Both myself and my wife are running Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +P in our Shield and PM9 and have had zero issues. I'm pretty sure the 938 will handle +P ammo just fine.

Excellent choice getting a 938!

my two cents. I have a Ruger LCP 380 Auto. It is easy to CC, but that ammo has serious limitations IMO.

At my club range we have steel knockdowns. This week, they were freshly painted, so I could see the impacts. My ,45 PX4 had no problem at ten yards. From the same distance, I could see the 380 rounds making marks, but the 10 inch dia. plates would not fall down. I'm thinking maybe an LC9.

Maybe the effects on steel knockdown targets are not the best way to gauge effectiveness on a person. My club also uses them sometimes to activate a swinging target for IDPA and the guys with the 9mm usually take multiple rounds to knock it down, while the guys with .45's only have to hit it once.
