SB273

Post by gdanaher »

This bill by Donna Campbell of New Braunfels would fine the misuse by government agencies of 30.06 signage and set fines for the misuse if not promptly rectified.

Donna Campbell is great, I wish she could have defeated LLoyd Doggett a few years ago for the US House. My wife sat by her at an Austin Lifecare fundraiser, said she was very nice and authentic.

I heard about this on the news today, seems like a good bill. Wonder what the chances of it passing are?

She is great. SB273 is a companion (identical) to Guillien's HB226. Both need minor amendments to add a private cause of action in the event the AG chooses not to pursue a lawsuit.

Fine the person in charge.

If the city messes up, the city treasurer will write a check after the city council approves the expenditure. If they refuse to pay up, then those dollars coming from Austin will dry up for awhile....

I'm pulling for this one to get passed. Hopefully it doesn't get sunk at the last minute by another "I'm special amendment" by a senator.

Just finished reading this bill and agree that a private cause of action amendment would be a big plus.

I especially like the narrowing of the government meetings prohibition as well.
