Glad to see this! I hope it makes it all the way through.

Last night, the local news reported a number of robberies on the UH main campus. BGs were armed in all cases. Of course, the students weren't. BGs are getting cell phones, laptops and cash.
Though neither are old enough for their CHL, I have 2 freshman in college - one at UH Main Campus (lives on campus) and one at Lone Star Community College. I'd feel much better knowing they aren't fish in a barrel, and that someone nearby could be a good guy with a gun. I also have three in HS. I wish teachers could carry there. The kids all have cell phones and laptops in HS too. The solace I find there is that the kids are more likely to be in groups since large numbers of kids all release at the same time. In college class schedules make this less likely. Plus there is a strong police presence on a much smaller campus for HS - making the density of LEO's better than a college campus.
My son on the UH campus has been walking alone across campus and been accosted by protesters during the Fergusson stuff. Even when he tried to tell the people he didn't agree with their protests, they would get physical with him trying to get him to participate. Fortunately, he's big and pretty level headed. At 6'2" he is no slouch. And as a first responder he realized his license could be on the line, so was smart enough to pull away and keep walking. My other freshman is much smaller and may not have been so level headed.

Re: College Campus Carry
The LEO density is definitely a lot lower on college campuses at least the lone star campuses ones I've been to. There are a good amount of college kids taking later classes which by the time they are out of class the parking lots are deserted and poorly lit. Just creates a bad set of circumstances where your forced to walk to the far side of a poorly lit parking lot with almost no one around but yourself.
