I think they should add a recklessness charge for unsafe firearm handling. Throwing a rifle out of a car, that's just plain cheezy. Other than a dog bite (good boy, Rover!) I don't think anyone was hurt.

Kudos to the officers who ran the baddies down after there was clear reason to assume they posed a deadly threat.
