CHL a crock

I do think it's a crock because we have to jump through all these hoops and pay so much money for what is supposed to be a right, but your single experience of them taking so long is not really good evidence of the current system being totally bad since so many others are receiving their license rather quickly.

If I were to call it a "crock" or mock it; one thing I would say is if taking the class proves one is capable of carrying concealed responsibly, then there were several people in the class I took today who should have failed but didn't. The legislators claim that this process is supposed to ensure that only responsible and informed citizens can carry. I don't think that is the case though.

I have finally received my CHL!!! Although, even to this day, the DPS website link for "Where's my CHL" STILL says the same message as it did 6 months ago...telling nothing useful...I finally got my card in the mail.

Remember....this right is taxed [fees] so it's a profitable endeavor. The state will GLADLY take your money to do the course, even if you're not truly eligible, as it's free money for them. Plus, even if somebody who shouldn't and / or couldn't have one takes the class, it could only make them safer & wiser about general serious confrontations in life.

It may be a "crock" but at least you CAN concealed carry so it is the best "crock" in the world. The only other country where there is shall issue concealed carry is Croatia. No other countries allow CHL to citizens. Croatia has limitations. For example, you cannot have lasers on your guns. Iron sights only. Yup, my plastic took NINE months to arrive. I feel your pain....

I did my CHL training back in early October of 2014, & my neighbor & his wife (no arrests EVER in all of life) did it several months before that. Yet, no mail, no status, no anything...ever! Even inquiring, the answer is basically "pending." It's just a fake license to trick a tax out of the people, even if they don't have a criminal record, but you never do actually get your constitutional right. I'm sad & sorry to have invested into this. I've been almost killed, robbed, multiple times....yet my government won't let me protect myself...even with a background check & paying them money! I say, don't waste your money on a license that people no longer receive. If you want protection, then I'm afraid that the only way to not get ripped off out of hard earned money is to go and learn MMA to a black belt+ level...cuz the 2nd amendment is gone for good
