Today is 18 July and I just checked my status online. To my surprise it read "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"
No bad! I took my class on 16 June, mailed (regular mail) my application on 17 June (a Sunday), fretted whether I used enough postage for 17 days until I received my PIN on July 5th. Have been sitting back reading the various posts on this forum (paying special attention to the "Waiting Room"), and checking the automated status on the Texas CHL site once each day. Looks like living in one place for 20+ years paid off. Status changed to "Completed" 13 days after receiving PIN.
I"ll be checking the mailbox more often now. Wife won't mind at all - It's hot outside.
Have been considering using Bass Pro points to purchase new 1911. Will wait now for the plastic and maybe ease the process a little.
Best of luck to the rest of you guys/gals. I feel your pain but it's a whole lot less now.
