Re: HB 910 Conference Committee
Thank you Charles you deserve much of the credit for keeping things as normal as possible !
Being in a motorized wheel chair has made things difficult reaching for things.
I do not have to worry if something shows.....
I am happy for everyone , and I am a X Deputy here in Texas.
I know all of us will do the right things to show the legislators they did the right thing by passing this .

Not a wordsmith but......

Re: HB 910 Conference Committee
Now a quick question: Is it HB910 that postpones OC until Jan 1 2016 or can we OC in September?

Re: HB 910 Conference Committee
I think "open carry" is 1 Jan '16, but what about the 30.06 amendment? That was different section of the Penal Code wasn't it? Or is it the entirety of what was passed delayed until 1 Jan?CoffeeNut wrote:Now a quick question: Is it HB910 that postpones OC until Jan 1 2016 or can we OC in September?

Yes Sir, I agree with you. I also like the fact that if my shirt happens to blow up or I bend over wrong that I am not going to be breaking the law. I don't believe I will openly carry but I will feel much more relaxed knowing that it no longer matters if it is seen.Charles L. Re: HB 910 Conference Committee
The entire bill becomes effective 1 Jan 2016 as long as Governor Abbott does not us his veto power. I do believe he has already stated that he will sign it if it makes it to his desk. Well it is now on the way to his desk.ralewis wrote:I think "open carry" is 1 Jan '16, but what about the 30.06 amendment? That was different section of the Penal Code wasn't it? Re: HB 910 Conference Committee
Well done Charles, et al. Thank you for your calm, and professional leadership. It takes a calm hand to navigate through the mine fields of a legislature. A Special Thanks to all legislators who Stood Up not for an Opinion......but for Our Constitution. The Second is just a part, but it sends a message that in All Areas, The United States Constitution is Not a Suggestion, but The Foundation. God Bless Texas!
Re: HB 910 Conference Committee
Anyone else notice that 30.06 only has to be posted conspicuously while 30.07 signs have to be posted at each entrance???louisf1 wrote: What is truly amazing is that walking past a 30:06 sign unintentionally is now going to be a class C misdemeanor.![]()

Yes Charles, that is what I wanted most. I've found 30.06 signs hidden in some of the most unlikely and hard to see places. I thanked you yesterday in PM, let me thank you openly today for all your hard work for so many years on our behalf.Charles L.
