TEXAS CITY — Gwenn McClain Estep, 66, of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, November 8, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock. Visitation will be 12 noon on Saturday, prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Estep was born January 8, 1942, in Denton, Texas. She was a homemaker who had retired from the purchasing department of J. C. Penney.
She is preceded in death by her father H. J. McClain, sister Sue Elliott, brother-in-law Sam Estep and wife, Phyllis.
Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, Tom Estep, Sr.; her mother Hazel Rierson and step-father Darroll; sons Tom Estep, Jr. and wife Rhonda and Chris Estep and wife Angela; daughters Tami Estep-Padgett and husband Jimmy and Lesli Estep; grandchildren Samantha Fuller, Katy Estep, Cameron Estep, Darren and Shannon Morgan; sisters Jackie Mitchell and husband Jack and Joan Jiede; childhood friends Sherron White and Carol Blair; special friends Carol and Gordon Myers, David and Nihla Touchstone, and Sid and Peggy Clayton; numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Steven Kolbasinski, William Brocker, Clint Mitchell, Donnie Elliott, Billy Estep, and Matt Jiede. Honorary pallbearers are Jake Estep, Carl Estep, Micah Estep, and Jack Mitchell.
