Having OC in this situation might be a good intermediate step to getting the BG to stop his attack.

Wow!!! My faith has been restored (for the time being at least) in my fellow forum members.
And while it's hard to type while jumping up and down allow me to plug "my" new (I bet ya'll thought I was gonna say gun store) pepper spray - INFERNO!!!
(I typed it in all caps. 'cause I'm SCREAMING)
This stuff rocks - high % of OC + black pepper mixed in, when it contacts the targets face the involuntary human reflex to black pepper kicks in - you know, ah, ah, ah, choo!!!
(Think of each "ah" as a deep breath, that's nasty pepper spray the badguy is inhaling to the deepest depth of his lungs)
If any of the folks watching that poor man get "beat up" had given "trash" a couple of sprays of this stuff in his big ugly face IMHO it would have been "game over" for him - and given the "beatee" a chance to get away.

I couldn’t have stood by and done nothing. I have a disability and could not fight. Should something like this happen in my presence in Texas, I will do what I have to in order to stop it.

Criminal violence occurs because the violator believes s/he will not be opposed, as all here in this forum seem to know intuitively - deterrence stops and prevents crime. In this case the beaters just needed a little "martial art" used on them. I would not have drawn here to stop the beating, not necessary; that comes in a minute. The person doing the beating is focused on his victim and is irrational. Approach from his blind side and kick hard once with the toe of your foot into the back of his knee; the moment he loses balance, kick hard once into his back. THEN draw calmly from a safe distance and make it clear that he is supposed to stay on the floor. If he gets up and charges you, good bye. Likely he won't; animals like this understand force; he was just knocked to the ground and his facing a gun barrel; unless he's suicidal, he will stay there. If he flees, so be it, let the LEOs run him down, the attack was stopped.
