Called them today just to see if they had received it, took about 15 attempts throughout the day, thankfully I can use my work phone for all that "please hold" time.

They haven't entered it into the system yet. I sent it Registered Mail with return receipt, its stamped as being received 30Aug by the DPS.

Oh well, back to waiting.....at least I get to go shooting this weekend.

They received my packet on Aug. 16th and I still have yet to receive my pin number. Thinking about calling today.

Just thought I'd hang out with some of the Waiting Room Folk. I know how boring it is waiting on word from Austin. That first 30 days geting into the system was tuff on me. :)

I think that's a good idea. Try early in the morning and kindness seems to go along way with them.

Well gather up then & we will try to keep them cheered & busy. My renewal is processing & I hope there is no lapse.
By next renewal I will have a nonresident from some other state that will cover any time gap. As long as it took on some folks in the recent past, the 6 months is not any too long. I know several that had a little gap. Some only a few days & others a few weeks. NOT GOOD.

Sorry its taking so long for you. If they stay on the 4-to-6-weeks behind that was mentioned in another thread, your application should show as processing in about another week or so.

I sent mine in 14-August and it changed from "Packet Mailed to Applicant" to "Processing Application" on 15-September. Based on that, you might see some action come Friday or Monday.

Its all good, I wasn't really expecting anything. Just poking fun at Austin's inefficiencies.

I dunno about inefficiencies... I've heard that they are claiming that they've gotten over 8000 new CHL applications this year...

It could be the hurricane Rita evacuation experience. It was a major facter for me. While some folks might be concerned about the rising crime from the Katrina folks. The mass evacuation was a real awakining for many of us.
