I somehow missed this post on Monday. My heart goes out to you. What an awful thing to have happen. I will send up prayers for you and the young lady's family.

Found out this morning they executed her.

She complied with all their demands, layed down on the floor, covered her eyes with her little hands, and they shot her in the back of her head.

The grief is beginning to lift enough for the anger to begin to show itself.

Doc,

It is always a tragedy when someone is senselessly killed. But, when it is someone you know that always compounds the feelings of grief and rage. Here's hoping the killer is caught and properly punished.

Let me know if there is anything I can do.

According to Elisabeth Kübler-Ross's somewhat contested views of loss, anger is one of the five stages of grief. She wrote that people often go in and out of the different stages. Whether she is right or wrong in the particulars, I want you to know that you have support here no matter how you're feeling--anger, denial, sadness, trying to figure out how to make it right, or acceptance--and that it is fine for you to go in and out of these different emotions as you try to wrap your head around the idea of such evil. How can people made in the image and likeness of God so divorce themselves from His goodness and grace that they could do this to a beautiful girl? It is a view into the thoughts of evil that none of us ever wants to be privy to. I continue to pray for you and all involved.

Anger is the appropriate response to this barbarous act. It makes my blood boil.

Doc - I have no words to bring you comfort, or to make sense of this. I can only pray that God grant you peace and understanding.

They caught him.

And arrested his g/f for helping him avoid arrest and set HER bond at a million bucks.

They haven't said he's the same guy that killed the 20 year old girl, but my LE friends are telling me he's one and the same and will, eventually, be charged.

Let's hope he gets directed to the Huntsvile "Express Lane".

Thanks for the update, and a great job to the officers who tracked this scum down. It always amazes me how brutal murders toss their weapons down and put their hands in the air when the cops come to get them. I guess it is safer shooting at store clerks than SWAT.
It is also sad to note that if the murdered store clerk had pulled a gun and shot this guy, the media would have been crying about vigilante justice. I hope he gets a mean judge having a bad day.
