I have one and it is fun to play with. Like mentioned previously, it is not a high quality or a high precision weapon and it is never been touted as such by Kel-Tec. It is a black hole for ammo. Especially with the 30 round mag. Everyone I have let shoot it has commented on the fun of blasting away with something that looks like it belongs in a third world low budget military.
Buy one and have fun with it. There are also many things made for upgrading it but I like the basic rifle. See this thread:
It's on my "to get one day" list. It would be higher up, but it only comes in LEO handgun variants, and my 9mm carry is a Hi-Power. It offers no interchangeability there.
I got to shoot fenster's .40 variant once at the range, it was a lot of fun. I don't have quite enough of a niche need for it yet, so it's behind some other guns in priority, and my recent AR build expenditures have put any new purchases on hold for the near future. As for reliability, there were no malfunctions of any type in the sub2000 that I shot.
I had the 9mm S2K with Beretta 92 grip several years ago. Bought it second hand, shot several thousand rounds through it myself, and for some dumb reason traded for a pistol. My S2K would shoot circles around a buddy's 9mm Camp Carbine, and there wasn't a Hi-Point that could even shoot in the same league. I found an old rectangular zippered gun bag, not sure what it was made for, that fit the S2K perfectly when folded. A 16" barreled carbine that folds into an 18" carry bag will fit in any vehicle you want to carry it in. At 25 yards, unsupported, it was minute of pie plate every shot, and the same at 50 yards from bench. I would have kept it but my vision got so bad with open sights I didn't feel like it had the proper home, and I wasn't going to ruin the folding design by installing fixed optics. Instead I ended up with a Beretta CX4 Storm with optics, and later decided my trusty pump gun took care of the intended short range long gun needs.
I do wish I had kept my old S2K though, if for no other reason but the fact that it folded up into such a compact (and reliable shooting) package.

It's not gun control that we need, it's soul control!

My first AR build got a bit out of hand. It's now my most expensive rifle easily. All of the rail options cost money!
They do make a flip up sight rail for optics for the Keltec, but spending money for the flip up mount, plus a good scope would cost more than the "rifle"
I went out to Carroll's today to order one, and the guys were nice enough to already have a 9mm Glock magazine model Sub 3K waiting for me! Hopefully the wife and I make it to the range tomorrow so I can test it out.

That's true. If there's anything I could change about mine, it'd be the sights. There's a method to modify them by replacing them with the metal sights from a Hi-Point carbine, but it prevents you from locking it closed when it's folded.
Had a great trip to the range this morning, and the wife and I put about 150 rounds of both FMG and JHP through the Kel-Tec with no issues. That is a fun little carbine! It is pleasant to shoot and the sights, which ugly, do the trick. We were only shooting at 15 yards, but even my wife, who has never shot a carbine or rifle, put every round into an 8" circle offhand firing as fast as she could reaquire a sight picture.
The stock is a little short, but I ordered the Kel-Tec extension to take care of that, as well as the Tacticool buffer pad and charging handle cover.
I have to say, I am more impressed with this little carbine than I expected to be. I grinned like an idiot the entire time either the wife or I was firing it.
In fact, the ONLY downside I see to this is that my wife has demanded that I either buy her a Kel-Tec of her own or she is going to steal mine!!!
