To quote someone famous, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" and this is all a gunbuster or other non-30.06 sign is. I will carry where legal and limit my presence to places I cannot. I have to follow the law and expect reciprocity.Running Arrow Bill wrote:A CHL holder should have received a copy of the Texas penal code & weapons booklet in their registration packet. READ IT. It tells all the places you can't (or shouldn't) carry. Simple as that.
Read the booklet again...
If a place or place of business has ANY kind of no gun sign, accept the fact that they are "anti-gun". Go somewhere else if you don't like it. Don't worry about whether or not the sign is "legal". They made their point...

Running arrow... I notice that in the past year you have asserted the same claim two times now (that the "firearm book tells us where not to carry, like it or not"), and once others seek to enlighten, you never respond back. I (and probably others as well) am interested in hearing your response to our comments.... If not, perhaps stop the hit-n-runs of trying to talk down to all others? That is behavior more common of trolls.

IMO, I don't give a dang about any type of "no guns" sign, legal or not. IF there is ANY type of such sign, I will not carry into the place. My first "rule" is thououghly READ the Texas CHL handbook...specifically says place NOT to carry.
I have no intention of "testing" any sign or law...I have no intention of "taking the ride" even if I am in the right. Have better things to do. I am not going to argue with or without an attorney what type of sinage is "legal".
That one too was without any response from you whatsoever.

ok, I'm sure this is has been posted millions of times, but I just can't help it, and I'm pretty new to this forum so...her it is.
Does anyone else find it odd/humorous that the "no-gun" sign is a thirty-aught-six sign?

Oh yeah! Don't know anyone has specifically pointed it out here, but always thought it ironic

Re: Where To Carry (or not)
I disagree. It means that they are anti-illegal gun and those signs are reminders to people that do not have CHLs that they are breaking the law. It means absolutely nothing else and should be completely ignored and never even mentioned by CHL holders.Running Arrow Bill wrote: If a place or place of business has ANY kind of no gun sign, accept the fact that they are "anti-gun". Re: Where To Carry (or not)
And here I was thinking those signs with the cute guns circle and slashes was people displaying their lack of fondness for Berattas.

I agree. I haven't seen many here, but other discussion boards I have participated on have alot of Trolls. The behavior pattern noted above fits the classic Troll playbook to a T.03Lightningrocks wrote:wgoforth wrote:Running arrow... Re: Where To Carry (or not)
OK, y'all! My bad! Didn't realize that my 'personal" opinion of no gun places would paint me as a "troll..." LOL!
Living in a VERY rural area where Texans are pro-gun in general, there are very few places in these parts where "no gun" is an issue. About only outlawed areas are those recognized by the State of Texas CHL "book"and penal code.
IMO many of us in these parts are too busy with livestock, farming, and the like to spend a lot of time hitting those "urban type" places. Livestock operations are 24/7/365, with some peaceful exceptions.
Since the closest "major city" is about 90 miles away, it's not like many of the people around here can just jump up and run down the street to a prohibited place...
Our area is very gun friendly...

My apologies if I offended you in any way. The posting of controversial ideas and then failing to engage in the ensuing debate is typical of many who post on message boards just to raise a ruckus.Running Arrow Bill wrote:OK, y'all! My bad! I am guessing your thoughts on this topic may be influenced by where you live, and that you might feel a bit differently on this topic if a significant portion of the places you want to go to had the non-compliant "gun buster" signs in place.
For the record, I don't know why places post gun buster signs. My best guess is that they are trying to say that they don't sell guns there.

While I no longer have any interest in attending entertainment "attractions", I guess my comments were offensive to some. Things are too busy around here...my "entertainment" and "retirement" is living day to day around our animals and not having to punch a clock at an outside job and/or deal with "anti-gunners" and those others that do not accept my lifestyle. That's just me and mine...lol.

I wish I could say that I didn't have to deal with it, either. Maybe I should move to somewhere more gun friendly than Houston?Running Arrow Bill wrote:Apology accepted! :)Katygunnut wrote:My apologies if I offended you in any way.
