I haven't seen a gun (other than bb or airsoft) in a Wal Mart in probably 4-5 years... Half of the time I can't even reliably get ammo any longer.

I still go to Wal Mart for staples but if they still had the guns and ammo they used to I would be there a lot more.

It's sad they cow towed to the left media and anti-gun enthusiasts. Just one more capitalist entity being pressured by the minority with the biggest vocal complaint. If all gun owners publicly boycotted them they would far outnumber the anti's... But we also respect their right to sell whatever they want in THEIR own stores... The lefties don't!

While race or specific denomination usually is not a factor in my dealings with people or churches, in this case it is following a pattern I have noticed over a period of several years.

The Rev. is both Black and a Southern Baptist. This combination seems to continually preach against its congregants being able to have access to the means to protect themselves. Why is not known to me nor have I been able to apply logic in any form to this stance. To be fair there are other preachers out there who meet both of the qualifiers I mentioned earlier that do NOT hold the same stance. I just have noticed quite few like Mr. Tatum that act similarly to him.

In my personal opinion, in this matter he is acting foolishly, while in other matters we are in close agreement.

...has something to do with the platform of the left...and the block of votes they must deliver to get support and be heard...it's becoming very common among white Southern Baptists to see the pastor carrying and several in the congregation likewise...it's not about the Church, but about the politics in the church, that causes things like the complaint on Walmart to be filed...that and ignorance of/refusal to accept that it's the man, not the object, who is the problem...and here we are again...gotta blame somethin' 'cause it cain't be ME that's wrong...the hoomin condition...

I don't see this as cynical at all, if true.
Everything any business does is for a buck.
If their model shows guns can generate more dollars/sq. ft than fishing lures, then that's what they will sell.
Next week it could just as easily be detergent.
But for now, I'm glad it's guns.

I bought myself a Westernfield M95 .22 revolver last year...it is branded as "Montgomery Ward". LOL...a bygone era. I like to collect those old Sears and other branded rifles and pistols. Something about them just makes me smile.

...awesome...any idea who made it?? I found a JC Higgins (Sears) .22 made by High Standard identical to the one my favorite uncle carried in the 50s and 60s...someone beat me to buying it...

I believe Western Field shotguns were made by Mossberg. Not all that sure about the handguns.
I have a Glenfield Model 25 .22 rifle. It was made by Marlin. That was my first gun. Got it for my 8th birthday. That would have been . . . 1976, I think.

I think its an iver Johnson. Old single action cowboy revolver that you would buy for your 8 yr old. Quite accurate and a joy to shoot.
