Maybe it is just that Americans are gullible. How about handing out Dr.'s white coats for a press conference? Did that make most Americans buy into the agenda more? Seems to me that you need more theater when the substance is lacking. However, this time around there was substance. Who/what/where did the provided theater originate this time?

By the way, how did The Rock know?

Correct me if I'm wrong, longtooth, but if Muslims believe in the Bible and the Koran, and technically speaking Muslims believe that Muhammad was a prophet so the Koran would be the word of God.

" o " did NOT decide to 'GO'....... GO was his only option.

---He "decided" to NOT call a NOGO. BIG difference!----

A Nogo would have been exposed and destroyed any chance at a 2nd term.

I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but we did DNA tests in a freshman microbiology class at the local community college. Probably not detailed enough to hold up in court, but just to show us basically how it's done. It is dirt simple. On the battlefield? I don't know. But I have no trouble believing they could have the equipment for it (that you could scrounge the parts for at Radio Shack) on the ship that the body was taken to.

...we were told that one set of pics were taken in Afghanistan, a second on the ship...first time I've heard that they went to Afghanistan...sorting all the facts out is like trying to fish out a Q in a bowl of alphabet soup...

I'm no doc, but I just googled to find out how long a DNA test would actually take. I came across this undated magazine article saying law enforcement can currently test within 4 hours (though few agencies have made the necessary investment to do so) and that a goal of 2 hours was on the way.

Most of the time when they say it takes "two weeks" to get results on a DNA or other laboratory test it is due to the backlog of samples, not the actual test time. Handling and analyzing forensic samples takes more time to make sure that the chain of custody is not compromised.

BTW, most doctors don't do their own tests. They have medical technologists to do the work. They just look at the results. ;-)

How about the rally in Germany during his election where a couple hundred thousand showed up...what most of the media failed to mention was that it also included free beer, free food, and free concert. There is not a place on earth where you couldn't gather 200,000 when there is free bier involved.

I still can't bring myself to do cartwheels down the sidewalk.

"I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure."
— Mark Twain

I'm glad he got what he deserved, but I don't think it will have a major impact on the situation. Bin Laden never intended to defeat the US military as knew that he couldn't. He realized that our economy is our strength and that it stems from the Liberty that has traditionally existed here. He managed to goad us into bankrupting ourselves and surrendering our freedoms in exchange for a mirage of safety, security, and stability.

Osama may be dead, but our economy is not much better and our liberties are dwindling by the day. It is no coincident that gold and silver are reaching all-time highs (in reality, our fiat currency is reaching an all-time low), gas is nearly $5 a gallon in some places, food prices have skyrocketed, people still can't find jobs, and it is nearly impossible to build any savings. Meanwhile, the government has taken control of our health care along with 1/6 of the economy, burdened us with an insurmountable debt, wire taps and unwarranted searches continue under the "Patriot" Act, doors are being kicked down and shots fired over a plant, half of our productive efforts are stolen through oppressive taxation, and our government continues to attempt to disarm us at every turn.

Been to an airport lately? How long will it be before I have to ask the same question of the train station, bus stop, baseball game, shopping mall, or grocery store?

Osama certainly lost this battle to an amazing SEAL team, but he is still winning the war.

As CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta explained it, full DNA sequencing is what takes time.

In this case, they had DNA records on hand from several relatives so it was only a matter of comparing, which could be done quickly.

Even so, preliminary testing was done in Afghanistan (they had to transfer from copter to plane) and more sophisticated testing done aboard ship.

Of course, this is all subject to revision as the facts change.

I'll wait for the book.

At one point, CNN reported that yesterday. Here's a post I made on another board at 6:03pm last night:
People should not be surprised with the way our government spoonfeeds us information. I've always said that the truth about anything is not known for ten years.

Today, they are saying that he was shot first in the chest and then in the head. Was the head shot a coup de grace?

They are also saying that he did not have a gun and did not reach for one. I have no issue with assassinations, when appropriate. I'm wondering if this bit was purposely delayed until our population's euphoria was in full swing.

And the woman killed was not his wife and was not being used as human shield.
