I sent in everything on the 10th. All that was on the website was the info for the CHL, but it did show the receipt for the Inst class. I called last Friday, the guy I talked to said they had the fingerprints, but that they didn't have the form I had mailed them yet(that is all that was missing). He said that it sometimes takes 2 weeks to get in the system. but today when I looked at it, it shows nothing! not the CHL stuff, the receipt.....nothing! Tried to call this afternoon, but got terminal hold. I really hope I do manage to get into the April class!

Shoot them an email. They got back to me pretty quick when I had a question about the form. https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/contact/default.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Let me know what you find out. I sent all mine in on the 13th and got notified by the post office that it got delivered 2 days later. What area are you in?

I'm just South of Fort Worth. If any of you get into the class, it would be nice to know I will not be the only woman. :seeya:

That's part of why I'm hoping to get into the April, because from the posts here it looks like there are at least a few women in this class. Of course, the obvious reasons of getting it done ASAP.

I found a good deal on an EAA Windicator .357/38spec. It has a good weight to it--BUT it does have a very stiff trigger pull when using it as DA. While I am trying to build up my trigger finger strength, I am just using it SA. Right now when I try to do it DA, it distorts my shot. I "accidentally" found it at Cabelas one day for $179 ( it is at other places for about $300-$250!) I didn't want to spend a lot on it because I have bought 2 glocks since the first of December and because I know I won't be using it as much--I just like the Semi's better!

Found out today that all of my info HAS been sent to the "training academy", so now just waiting to find out when I get into a class! I really hope it is the April class since we know there are other women in that group!

Did you get a response back by email? I emailed them and I got basically a form letter reply that said I needed to pay the $100, fingerprints and CHL 90 form. I replied with I have done all of that. Also hoping to get into the April class!!! Keep me updated with what you hear.

yes & no!! I got a standard form letter saying that getting my Concealed Handgun License could be 3-4 weeks for anything to show up online!! I HAVE the license already!

So I called this morning and they do have everything and told me that it was all faxed to the training center yesterday. No way of knowing whether I will get processed into this class or not. The guy I talked to last week said there are always people who cancel the class they are scheduled for and that they then start going down the list. The guy today told me that I would get an email etc....... So now I am in the waiting game

I am taking a S&W model 65 revolver. It has a nice trigger and fits my hand fairly well. It has the 3 inch barrel. I wish it had the four or six. I have a little 642 snubbie, but would be nervous about qualifying at 15 yards with that :lol:
I looked at several revolvers and did some research online. I have to say, I have my eye on a S&W 686 SSR (standard service revolver). It is an upgrade from the regular 686. I really really liked the trigger pull when I checked one out at the Fort Worth Gun Show, and they are said to be very accurate. But, alas, the price is out of my reach for now. :cryin

JustMe- I got tired of getting the same form response when emailing them and so I just called them. They are missing my fingerprints. My fingerprints are "lost" somewhere in the system. I had to give them the TCN # (tracking number) for my fingerprints so they can match them up. I wish I had called sooner. He said to call them back in two weeks to see if they found them but I think I will be calling them every other day until they locate them.

Have you heard anymore?

I got an email yesterday from the training center saying that they have everything and that I will probably be in the June class. Went on to say that it would take about a month to get the roster together and to not call them asking about it
