That one, and the still photo of the South Vietnamese guy shooting the handcuffed guy in the head, as well as the naked little girl running down the road from the napalm didn't help increase support for that undeclared war either. Nightly TV coverage showed the folk at home that indeed, "war is hell". {That's a famous quote, Mods. It's not a veiled attempt to talk nasty.}

I will admit here that I'm from NC originally. Got to Texas as quick as I could.

Havelock is down east near the coast.....huge Marine base there...MCAS Cherry Point.

We always used to joke that NC has 12 million people, only 7 last names.
