Knowing wholesale costs for those who buy guns one and two at a time I can tell you that if a dealer who discounts anything significant will find himself selling for free and not making any profit.
I would see guns at gun shows for sale by the huge retailers at less than we could buy them for wholesale.
That said, if I could count on repeat business I would offer whatever discount I could and maintain a profit.
