I agree. In Fort Bend County, the NRA's lack of Libertarian recognition was breathtaking. One may only speculate the reasons.

I'm a paid-up NRA Life Member since 1973 and, quite often, I wonder why I ever decided to be one. Maybe it was the impetuosity of the young Marine that I was - or possibly it was the fact that, at that time, they were just about the only 2A Civil Rights organization around who sometimes talked a good game.

I realize that some of you may choose to lecture me on the benefits of the NRA. I know that there are some. I'm not saying that the "emporer has no clothes"; I'm saying that the emporer is only partially dressed.

I think they know that when Libertarians are elected they will always vote progun. they won't have any influence over them. They show real power when they can sway marginal legislatures their way. Then again I am not asking them for straight unquestionable endorsement, but for simple recognition that we exist. My main anger is focused on the TSRA. They are the ones who focus on the laws that affect us the most. The TSRA doesn't seem to want to talk about it. In my race they wouldn't acknowledge or rate me, they wouldn't even talk to me. But they rated my Democratic opponant. Who only had a 'B' rating. There was no 3rd party candidate that I could be sucking votes from. The only thing that I can think of is that they are openly opposed to the Libertarian party. While Libertarians are a minority party, among the RKBA folks they are very well represented I would hope that other Libertarians withhold money from the NRA and TRSA until they at least recognize that we exist. After all we really are on the same side.
