I AM NO LONGER GUILTY
I allowed my memberships to the NRA and TSRA to expire. Do to my medical expenses I just thought I could not justify spending the monies. Well today I PAID my dues. I am for one grateful for what these organizations stand for and what they accomplish. I have decided to never let those expire again.
Good job my prodigal BRO. I did the same thing many yrs ago for a while. Could not stand it outside the pack though.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

I haven't joined either of them nor will I until they at least recognize 3rd party candidates. I am particularly mad at the way the TSRA. They have refused to acknowledge some 3rd party candidates that are definatly pro 2nd amendment.SRVA wrote:Welcome back, my friend. I can't imagine anyone on this forum not belonging to both organizations.
My situation is not unique. I ran against a Democrat incumbent who was given a 'B' rating. I was the only other candidate on the ballot. The TSRA would not rate me, nor would they even acknowledge I exist, nor would they acknowledge my emails. The NRA also did a poor job of acknowledging Libertarian party candidates. I figure the reason the reason they won't acknowledge Libertarians is that they know we are real 2nd ammendment advocates, and that they would have to give almost any of us an A 0r higher rating. doing so might alienate a somewhat friendly candidate that has a better chance of getting voted in. I believe that they were being dishonest in refusing to recognize us.
I will make phone calls, send Faxes and post emails. but they will never get a red cent from me until they at least recognise that I exist.
My complaint is not about endorsements. its about simple recognition

I went to the TSRA website. I must say, they don't make it easy to join.
The "Join TSRA" link provides a form to print and mail along with a check, but they don't tell you how much the dues are. There's a reference to membership options at the online store, but the store doesn't have anything about membership.
There's never been a TSRA table at the Texarkana gun show, but to be fair, they're on the Arkansas side of town.

I did not have that problem. Maybe it was different because I used my Credit Card.

I agree. In Fort Bend County, the NRA's lack of Libertarian recognition was breathtaking. One may only speculate the reasons.Liberty wrote:.....They have refused to acknowledge some 3rd party candidates that are definatly pro 2nd amendment.

I'm a paid-up NRA Life Member since 1973 and, quite often, I wonder why I ever decided to be one. Maybe it was the impetuosity of the young Marine that I was - or possibly it was the fact that, at that time, they were just about the only 2A Civil Rights organization around who sometimes talked a good game.
I realize that some of you may choose to lecture me on the benefits of the NRA. I know that there are some. I'm not saying that the "emporer has no clothes"; I'm saying that the emporer is only partially dressed.
The last train out of any station will not be filled with nice people.
