In China (where I've seen the most kitchens) I'd say not.... Woks work great with vegetable oils. I don't recall ever seeing a tub of lard/fat anywhere... For cooked vegetables, I'd say not... for meats... I'd have to say "I don't know for sure", but I don't think so...
Interesting question... never thought about it before...
