I think what is really sad is that the parents, friends, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, etc; know what these kids have done and you will not hear about any of them standing up & doing what is right-and that is turn them in to the police.

So, not only do we have "feral yutes" (as another posted put it) running around, but you have a much larger problem in that every single family member by their actions both supports, and condones, this type of behavior.

The rape in and of itself is simply the result of the larger problem and that is the lack of parenting. The inability of the parents to instill in those childrens heads that hurting other people is not right, is where they failed. Now, it will be left up to the state to punish these yutes for their actions. In my mind, when the yutes are found, BOTH the parents & the yutes together should serve time side by side. You think that would have an impact on how parents raise their kids if they were responsible for them until they are adults? I certainly do. If that were the law, I'd bet the parents would a) do a better job raising them. b) turn them in immediately in hopes of clemency when the child does something heinous. Either way, we would all be better served. But, we all know this is just fantasy. What self-serving politician would ever support a bill, or law, that would make people responsible for their adolescent children.. Crazy talk.

Hard to do when the sperm donor is in jail and has no concept of what being a father really is, while the mother is on crack and the 4th generation to be pregnant by age 15 . . .

That is why they are "feral". These "children" have never been civilized.

The parents did pass on their moral values on to their children.

That's exactly the problem.

In a large portion of the population it has been generations since the type of values that would make committing these types of crimes abhorrent have been prevalent. Vicious immorality is now the dominant culture, and life has no value whatsoever.

We're looking at the fruits of the "wars" on poverty, drugs, marriage and Christianity and this isn't something we can punish or imprison our way out of.

We're in a situation that only a full turn back to God can fix.

Very true Excaliber. A beast removed from the wilds for a few hundred years is more prone to violence than a beast removed for a thousand years...

We can also turn to Winchester and that would be a lot quicker...
