Follow up post on Nexdoor,
This was posted by another member on the App:
"based on what i heard, this whole situation had been cleared up by the sheriff. i also heard it was a paintball gun, not a real rifle, and it was just kids. now, i hate to sound like a rude person, but this has gone somewhat out of proportion. i understand the concern but just some stupid kids running around being stupid and now their time is being wasted and so is the police's time. again, i'm on no side here, im trying to resolve this and somewhat end this thread."

I replied hes lucky the wrong/right person wasn't behind him or his brains could have been blown out of proportion.

Remember the kid playing with a toy gun in the park killed by police.

I'm with you Soccerdad. I always leave room in front of me at stops. Was taught to leave vehicles tires in front of me visible.

That's an idiotic response by the poster who said it isn't a big deal. You rightly pointed out that this could have ended very badly for the kids and many other people.

As has been said so often on this forum, "play stupid games, win stupid prizes". Go ahead and try to convince me you have a gun. If you succeed, you may not like the consequences all that much. Same goes for kids playing the "pretend its a robbery and laugh at everyone who dives on the floor", "Killer clown", and "Knockout" games. Stupid games = stupid prizes.

Turns out the one who posted that was either one of the kids in the truck or a friend, he and several other kids came on the thread and defended the kids and tried to discredit the poor lady who originally posted about this incident. Possibly even fathers of the kids. One claimed he witnessed the whole incident and the lady was lying. The kid was just trying to clean his paintball gun out the window and never pointed the gun at her. They were obvious kids by their verbiage and calling everyone idiots. If any of them were fathers, they were teaching the kids its ok to play stupid games.
I replied it was obvious the kids had taken over the thread and did state, "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."
I guess they won't learn until it's too late.
