Another night? Tonight is Halloween. Were they trickortreating last night in your hood?
I know when we lived in Utah, they wouldn't even celebrate the 4th of July if it fell on a Sunday.

Yep, hordes of 'em last night. I suspect the
unwashed among them will be out tonight...along with do-overs from last night.

I always plan and expect the "holiday" to be on the chosen day. If Halloween falls on a Sunday, I ain't giving out candy on saturday. Just me I guess....

As kids, we had to wait for the County to pick the 30th or 31st, whichever was better (i.e., safer) for the kids. I don't remember if we ever had it on Sunday, but I suspect not.
We had
none show up last night, in what has been a kid-active neighborhood since we've been here.
Has our reputation finally taken hold?
ETA: We really did think it (Trick or Treat) was the 30th. I guess that is from our experience, as it's been bounced around so much. But is Sunday really a good night for it (a School Night)?

Its dark by 7, my kids will be in bed by 8, which is normal school night bed time :)

You mean the honest ones will be out tonight. The cheaters were out last night and got nothing from us.

I celebrate resurrection in the Spring, rather when things die as winter approaches; my porch light will be off and I'll be watching a movie.
Still, if someone does come to my door... and says "Trick or Treat"
I'm opting to show them a trick instead of giving a treat.
I can make a rubber band jump from two fingers onto the other two fingers.
(No one said it had to be a
good trick)
Ok, now, I can start eating the 8 bags of candy I bought ...
(Seriously, I prepared for hallerweenie and every year the last 4 years, no one came to my door; there's some big city thingy goin' on where parents take kids nowadays.

So whats everyones halloween carry?
Normally around the house I just have a 5 shot snubby .357 with in reach, but since tonight there will be lots of strangers around, tonight its the Rock Island 1911 5 inch on an OWB holster hidden by a button up shirt.
Sure hope I get rid of all my candy...I sure don't need to eat any of it!

I get to stay home and hand out the goodies, so I am dressed as a retired plain clothes cop, my Detective Special at my side.
Would you let your kid take candy from a stranger with a gun?

We stopped by Walmart to get some candy this afternoon to hand out. My wife picked out like 2 bags of "fun size" candy bars (what idiot made
that name up?). I said, no way, we're going to have
dozens of kids coming by, and I grabbed a couple more bags.
We had
FOUR trick or treaters tonight.

Little bas... I mean buggers... couldn't show up and get some candy off'n us? What is the yoot of this nation coming too?

I had tons of little princesses and goblins come by the house. I felt horrible because I didn't expect to be home tonight so I didn't have any candy on hand. Made me look like "the grumpy man at the end of the block". Oh well.
I'm still wondering why they kept knocking though. I had the porch light off, which is supposed to mean no candy here. At least that was the code when I was a youngster.

Halloween is not my thing, however, I had to walk with the kids and their mom. Kids love it. Adult, not that much. Sorry to say, I feel this event is bit silly and ridiculous. Letting little ones to ask for candy from strangers is bit odd.
