Halloween's coming up, let's not be CHEAP y'all!!!

Post by Texas Dan Mosby »

Halloween is the ONE holiday that rewards motivation, courage, and stamina. My comrades and I would conduct planning, and put in the miles, and hours, in order to gain the largest amount of candy possible.

Let's reward those little buggers that are courageous enough, and resourceful enough, to pound the streets and go house to house in their quest for free candy.

I am armed with snickers, 3 musketeers, and kit kats, and will dole out my stash liberally for those brave enough to approach my humble abode.
88 day wait for the state to approve my constitutional right to bear arms...

Every Halloween, kids are lterally brought into our neighborhood by the truck load and dumped out to roam the streets - some with parents, some without. The Sheriff lives a block over from us and reported 532 goblins came to his house a couple of Halloweens ago. Some of these people start showing up before 5:00 PM! :eek6

It's kinda' fun to watch them from behind the blinds in our darkened house. :smilelol5:

Perhaps I'm a grinch, but I've made it a rule never to open the door to strangers, regardless of date, especially one that involves concealing ones-self behind a mask and a costume that are demanding free sundries... :headscratch

I don't find them to be a threat unless they're over 4'.

I'm looking for my sign.

Beside a large plastic tub/bowl. sits my sign
"Take all you feel you deserve, let your conscience be your guide"
(Of course the bowl/tub is empty, so they'll blame all the people that got there earlier, but .... I went fishing out on the lake, so I don't have to hear about it)
I'm no lawyer

I don't find them to be a threat unless they're over 4'.
I've noticed that each year they seem to get older and older... Plus then I would have to set up a sign that said

"You must be below this height to get candy" and set it at about 4', and that'll just cause problems.

Love to see the little ones come to the door. Hate to see the six footers that come later, sans costume.

We have a strict rule about that at our house. Trick or treating is for the little ones. If you are over 4 feet tall, you have to sing. You sing me a song, and I deem it good enough, I will give you candy. No song, no candy. They generally just slink away.

My policy is if they have to shave their face or legs, then they are too old.

If they can make it through my maze of boobie traps and other home security devices, and get to the door unscathed, then they deserve a piece of candy.

Texas Dan - great post! :thumbs2:

We always enjoy the little ones, but the six footers only get a "you're kidding, right?".

No no no, you're doing it wrong. The porch is a perfect kill box. Bracket with claymores, small arms and grenades right up the middle. Wham! No more trickertreaters!

That's too messy. Maybe I'll just draw a chalk outline of a trickertreater
on the porch and scatter some candy around as a warning. :evil2:

OK guys, let's not get morbid on this subject. :nono:

I personally enjoy seeing the young ones having a good time in their costumes. I remember how much fun it was when I was a little kid to go trick-or-treating. :thumbs2:
