Interesting thread...I have to fly somewhat frequently for work so it is either a free cheap thrill of a pat down or the new x-ray doo-dad. Since it is male on male, I'm opting out of the pat downs. I think I am just going to start showing up at the airport in a thong when I go through security.

Wear a thong, and a Homer Simpson mumu, then you can just hike up the mumu when it's your turn to assume the position.

I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

It would be more like the episode where Homer's thong kept disappearing...I'm a good sized boy.

There's a spot of what might, possibly, be "new news" on this whole shambles.

According to news reports, it seems that certain VIPs, including "Cabinet secretaries, top congressional leaders [and] senior U.S. officials" are to be exempt from the new intimidation by humiliation process.

Was wearing her normal outfit (you know her business outfit) with bare bottom, how she will get her "TSA treatment"? :biggrinjester:
I believe the nasty experience that the chap at San Diego had answers the question. Clearly, they would demand that she put on extra clothing, thereby allowing them to pretend to look for something that they knew full well wasn't there.

I guess, one TSA inspector would have his suspicious a "bit aroused" and ask for further private inspection. The other TSA agent is yelling "Camera, Camera, get the Camera" just to tape the evidence.

Totally! Why on earth would the ruling elite make themselves subject to the laws/rules they enact for the lowly, stupid serfs?
They "opt out" of TSA security, Social Security, Obamacare, Sexual harrassment law suits, etc etc........
Republicans and Dem's learned nothing from the last election. It's business as usual. Sickening. :banghead:

Quoting your article:
WASHINGTON — Cabinet secretaries, top congressional leaders and an exclusive group of senior U.S. officials are exempt from toughened new airport screening procedures when they fly commercially with government-approved federal security details.
Congressional leaders also have federal security details? Are you kidding me? :mad5

I don't know if things have changed since I left, but we had stopped the nail clipper thing in 2004, it was obviously carrying things too far. When I traveled constantly for a year after I left TSA, my nail clippers were never questioned, nor were they this past year when my wife and I flew to Hawai'i.

They even let my wife's knitting and crochet needles through and one of them was the size of the folding bayonette on the old SKS.

I've gone through several countries in Europe and some in South American and that didn't bother my wife and I, but the more I think about it the more I feel like we are living in a police state under Obama.

TSA's new motto:

"We handle more packages than UPS."
No State shall convert a liberty into a privilege, license it, and charge a fee therefor. -- Murdock v. Pennsylvania
If the State converts a right into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right with impunity. -- Shuttleworth v. City of Birmingham
