Oregon teacher fights "victim disarmament zone'

Post by seamusTX »

Medford, Oregon: A woman teacher who has a restraining order against her ex-husband is suing to end the school district's policy of no weapons on campus (including teachers' cars). Apparently, Oregon state law prohibits such policies.

This case received a setback last week. A judge ruled that the school's policy prohibiting weapons on campus was not in violation of the state pre-emption law, which prohibits local governments from making ordinances that prohibit concealed carry.

The case will be appealed.

More info here.

Thanks for the update. I wish her the best, but I haven't been following this one as closely as I should.
