call them man..I did and they issued my license 3 days later. Ask them if there is any remaining problems with your application and what the delay is since it has been 60+ days. Tell them you want to insure there is no further problems that would delay your application any longer, and if they give you the runaround tell them you want details of your status.
Well guys, I took the suggestion of calling a did it. I wish I could say something miraculous came of it but I would be lying. I was told they were still waiting for my backround checks to come in. They could not tell me what backround checks or what kind of time frame I was looking at they could only tell me I was still being processed. When I asked why it took almost a month for the processing to begin after fingerprint card I signed and sent back the answer I got was pretty much "I have no idea, could be it takes a long time to get to the office from the mail room or it could have been placed on someone's desk who had a large pile and it took them a few weeks to get to it."
Not quite the answers I was looking for so it is back to doh de doh de doh here I sit and wait.

Best I can tell you is that I trapped myself. Had it not been for missing the signature on just one of the fingerprint cards in the first place I would not have been bumped out of the queue and lost a month of processing time. It doesn't excuse them taking an entire month to get the fingerprint card back to the application and begin processing but it all comes back to my causing the problem in the first place.

From what I have seen you should begin looking for your pin about 3 weeks after they receive your package in the office. If after 3 weeks goes by you can always email them with your information and they will provide you your pin via email.Jeff B. wrote:Well, the PIN was not in todays mail.
Hopefully tomorrow. Doing a day trip to McAllen, so I'll have to wait until I get back tomorrow night...

just call again and you will probably get a different person who may be able to help you better. I appreciate DPS getting my license to me quick however, when I called they told me the lady that was dealing with my application was out of town for that whole week. I was told that nothing could be answered until she returned...2-3 days later that same week my status changed to complete. They like to give people the run-around...
My CHL instructor did tell us that August and September would see a flood of renewals. He said that the process would likely slow down. I had high hopes when I reviewed the timelines of those who completed their classes in June and July. I am and old dude in this room too. Have another glass of tea and enjoy the comfortable seat.
