Beretta QC

Post by glbedd53 »

I bought a new Beretta 92 stainless about a month ago. The very next day I shipped it back to Beretta, no double action. Trigger bar wouldn't engage the hammer unless I pulled back the hammer just slightly. Beretta sent me what I needed to send it to them but told me 8 to 10 weeks turnaround, even on brand new firearms. That's ridiculous enough but just that they could have let it get out with such an obvious defect really makes me wonder if something has happened to there quality. It is a U.S. made one but my other 92 is also and it works fine. They do respond to emails for what it's worth but their QC man is a skeleton. Just FYI if anyone is thinkin about buying one check it out before you fill out the form. Don't do like I did.

I have bought two from LTT and they are fantastic, but that is custom. My LTT Elite I finally took to the range recently and I am absolutely no Beretta fan, but I am now. I have one low budget (if there is such a thing) LTT with a RDO and Trijicon on it. The second is everything Landon has. They are also a great group of people to work with with.

My Beretta PX4 compact is the ugly duckling I think, but has become my every day carry now. Great pistol. If you could shoot it I don’t think anyone would not love it. Langdon has a way to turn the DA trigger into pure butter.

Sorry you have had trouble. To be honest a lot of folks QC has went down the tubes.

Hopefully you get it back sooner. I hope you pistol is not indicative of lower production skills and their QA/QC. Good luck. I have only handles the 92 soon after the US adopted them, but never got to shoot one. I sold Beratta's back in the 60's and early 70's. Never had any issues with their pistols, but I bought their Silver Snipe O/U 12 ga 26" Imp Cyl/Mod choked SG. I was shooting skeet in a league and was renting 101 Winchesters. I took the Beretta to the skeet range and shot 7 rounds with it. My high score was 9 birds. I finally decided to pattern it on the 16 yard patterning lane. The top barrel shot low and the bottom barrel shot high. Not by just a little. The top barrel pattern was barely in the bottom of the 30" pattern board and the bottom barrel was the same coverage with the pattern barely in the top of the circle. I traded it to a guy for a stereo and bought a Charles Daly (made by BC Miroku). The same shotgun that became the Browning Citori's in 1976. My scores went back to normal. Good luck with you 92.
