help me feel better

Post by striker55 »

Took almost a month for online to change from packet sent to processing application. Please tell me it hasnt sat there this long without doing my background check. I should have a good record, once held a ffl and had a ny pistol permit so the fbi should have a folder on me.

The web site is NOT like a commercial web site that gives daily updated status reports, like you may expect. It really does nothing more than acknowledge they sent you a pin, got the apps, and have sent a license. That’s about it.

It can take them up to a month to get to your packet and begin the processing. It seems to be all in the luck of the draw as to which desk your packet ends up on.

Seriously, nothing you can do will speed up the process. I know its hard to wait, but my best advice to everyone is: Mail it (delivery confirmation), and then forget about it.

We sent my daughter's packet in, never called, never checked on-line, never worried. It showed up in her mailbox 43 days later (pretty quick).

Hope you have no problems with yours.

REJECTED, finger print card was rejected. Katy PD did them for me on their electronic machine. Just a little delay. Question for you guys, PD gave me 2 of their cards, in the packet there were two cards but different looking. Do you think that will matter?

I have no idea whether the different cards make a difference but learn something from my experience. When you send in your next set of fingerprint cards make absolutely sure you send it certified with a return receipt required. Without the signature card they can ignore your envelope as long as they want.
