I had a little bit of an uncomfortable situation occur in PA last year when it came to carrying concealed under the authority of my TX CHL. It seemed PA LEOs wherent completely versed in all their laws. I am planning a trip with my family where we are driving from SA, TX to my hometown in PA. Now I plan on making a traveler friendly CHL binder where I am going to put a copy of the Reciprocity Agreements for all states, as well as a brief synopsis of important laws pertaining to that state. Now my questions
1. What website (if any) could I go to get the pertinent laws, sort of one stop shopping?
and
2. Would a LEO be receptive of this binder to "clarify" any confusion they may have?
I appreciate all the imput I will receive and thank all in advance who will reply

Texas reciprocity agreements are here.
http://www.handgunlaw.us/ is probably the best resource for all state laws.
At http://www.gunlaws.com/, you can buy a book for less than $20 that has summaries of every state's laws.
My personal opinion on carrying this kind of information is that it will make no difference if a police officer decides that he is going to arrest you, but I could be wrong.

Wouldn't being provided with the information remove any "good faith" in the arrest?

A document that you printed doesn't prove anything. I could easily create a realistic but fake document that says Illinois has CHL reciprocity with Texas, for example.AFCop wrote:Wouldn't being provided with the information remove any "good faith" in the arrest?
Cops aren't lawyers. They don't argue with people that they think violated the law. I tried it with traffic tickets and was told to shut up or go to jail on two occasions. I'm a slow learner, but I got the message.

While the documents won't definitively settle any argument, they might help jog the officers memory of an officer, and maybe point the way a little faster for a young assistant DA to clear things up.

That's a good point.Liberty wrote:While the documents won't definitively settle any argument, they might help jog the officers memory...
I don't know how cops are supposed to keep up with this stuff. Every state that has some form of concealed carry has a possible reciprocity agreement with 47 other states.
