One foot out the door...

Post by kdom »

While waiting for DPS to issue my TX permit, I decided to apply for a FL permit as well to cover me on my annual trip to visit family in Ohio. Can't believe how fast they issued the permit - FL Dept of Ag received my application on Nov 10th per the delivery confirmation, and the permit was mailed Nov 20th! Now that's some service...

DPS is at day 45 and counting...

Received a little present from DPS yesterday!

Packet mailed Oct 10, permit received Nov 29 - total of 50 days.

Wife's application is still "Processing" - was also mailed October 10...

How did you go about applying for an out of state permit?

FL permit was very easy to obtain. Here's a link to the FL Dept of Ag page with instructions:

http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/weapons/apply.html

Follow the link to request an application (i asked for 2 just in case...) and they'll send out right away.

A copy of the TR-100 you received at your TX CHL class can be used as proof of training, or record of military handgun training will work too. Cost was ~$120. FIngerprints must be taken by LEO, but they don't need to sign your photo...Application is short and sweet.
