Rowlett, Dec. 14 -- A woman shot her son-in-law in the back of the head with a "small-caliber handgun." The bullet did not penetrate the victim's skull.
The woman subsequenly held off the police for 90 minutes and then shot herself twice in the chest, with non-fatal results.
Police allege that the victim's wife was having an online affair and convinced her 71-year-old mother to shoot him. The older woman is in the hospital and the wife is in jail, charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

I hate it when things like this happen. I just hate. Every one of these incidents is a blow against law-abiding shooters.

I'm more angry they aren't going for Attempted Murder, which to me, this obviously is.seamusTX wrote:The older woman is in the hospital and the wife is in jail, charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

THIS is the gun violence problem. People shooting other people, criminally, and getting bogusly light charges. I saw her bail was FIVE GRAND, if I recall.
five grand bail for attempted murder is nuts.
