Competition - Goals for 2008?

Post by AggieMM »

Well, with the New Year comes "New Years Resolutions". What are yours (Competition Related)?

My Resolutions:
  • Reduce transition time between targets.
Achieve EX in SSP (IDPA) Classification
    Get USPSA Classified
One of my biggest weaknesses is that I have pauses between targets, (ie bang-bang-pause-bang-bang). I'd like to get it down to (bang-bang-bang-bang)

I was able to improve on my transitions by leading with my eyes instead of my gun. TxD actually suggested watching the blades on a slow moving celing fan....I like the exercise.

Good luck on your classification goals...I have no doubt that you will achieve them.

Definitely want to make EX in SSP AND ESP with the same pistol. I'm going to win a match and get bumped to do it too. ;-)

....oh, and reload ammo that won't blow up my gun so I can finish the match as well :willynilly: :willynilly: :willynilly:

Since we haven't begun competing yet, that's as far as our resolution goes, for the near future.

If IDPA, etc., becomes as addictive as just making loud noises and holes in paper targets have been so far, this one may be revised during the year.

Reasonable gun control is hitting your target with the first shot.

My goal this year is to retain the skills I have worked for over the last 1 1/2 years. Life has me taking this season almost completely off (I will still be at PSC for the monthly match). I will still be shooting a good bit, just not IDPA.

I will be back in December of this year :reddevil and I will be turning it up to full speed..LOL.

I did watch a few minutes at PSC a couple weeks ago. Reminded me of competition aerobatics -- not very interesting to watch, unless you're a participant waiting for your turn.

Did forget to mention of our other plans for the year -- get some advanced training from El Gato.

My goal is to figure out how to get my job and IDPA to co-exist. I haven't done that well at all yet. And I'd like to keep the job while I do it...

I want to take home wood from LA State, Badlands and TX state championships in SSR. I want to be division champion at at least one of those and hopefully it'll be one that Curt Nichols shows up at. :fire

I also only need ESR and CDP to be 5 gun expert. That will be done before TX State.

DMG, Sorry for the late reply. It has been a long week. The three I want are Texas State, Louisiana State and Oklahoma State. I'm starting to enjoy this revolver thing.

1. I am going to finish getting my IDPA 5 Gun Expert Award. I have three: SSR, ESR, and CDP.

2. Beat jbirds1210!

3. Bring home three 'High Lady' trophies from the same matches SRVA is bringing home trophies from.

Win or place high enough in a match to be bumped to ESP/EX.
Get classified as at least SS in all 5 divisions. I need to buy an SSR gun first.
