Heller / 2A article

Post by Kalrog »

This is a pretty good article about the 3 potential arguments on both sides of the 2A issue. It only tackles one of them - thought it was interesting.

In keeping with the articles on Heller in the online media... I'll post here when I find new or unique articles that I think others might find interesting. For both sides of the case.

I remember Andy Cuomo back when his father, Mario "There's-a no Mafia" Cuomo was godfather, er, governor, of NY and pulling all kinds strings to see to it that his progeny had a future, besides running for president while claiming not to be.

I don't trust his word or judgement any better than I trusted Mario's.

This quote from the Star-Telegram article is classic. I'm gonna remember this one.

King put this philosophy in its proper perspective when he wrote: "Cowardice asks the question, 'Is it safe?' Expediency asks the question, 'Is it politic?' Vanity asks the question, 'Is it popular?' But, conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?' And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right."

Some of the Briefs are on the net at:

I went back and counted

There were 24 briefs.

Only 3 were for our side.

I don't think the deadline for our side has arrived. If it has, they haven't published all of ours on the net.

The respondent just posted their brief yesterday. There is still time for Amacus filings on our side. Don't worry just yet.

This one is fun:

When I am in the mood for an argument, I call up Shela Jackson Lee's office (my congresscritter) and start in with "All gun laws are raciest." .
