If you click on the link and answer the questions honestly, it will tell you which candidate you most likely agee with. In my case I was closes to Huckabee and furthest from Osama, err I mean Obama.

Lots of problems with that poll... makes some assumptions that you really can't make when doing something like this. Fairly accurate regardless of the problems though.

I was closest to McCain and furthest from Obama.
So the gun control data for John McCain is definitely suspect.

Same result for me.

Me too. But I regard myself as being closest to Thompson (overall) or Romney (2nd choice), and furthest from Obama.Mike1951 wrote:I was closest to McCain and furthest from Obama.

I think they are giving McCain more conservative bona fides than I would give him.

Same here and that kinda scares me a little. I don't see me and McCain as being on the same page at all, other than party affiliation. I am going to have to analyze this further or it will drive me crazy.

Closest to Ron Paul. About equidistant from Obaba and McClinton.
According to their graph, I'm more economically conservative than Paul and almost as socially progressive as Clinton. Sounds about right.

I was surprised; this was better than most, but like all of the "candidate analyzers", it forces you to guess what value they ascribe to your response, and how it might compare to what you understand your candidate's position to be.
Oh, and I was most like Paul, least like Obama, assuming that they have correctly correlated the candidates' positions to my answers. Big assumption, one I'm not willing to concede. (Except for Ron Paul, that is.

You are going to have to explain that one to me. A democrat's idea of being socially progressive is giving away your tax dollars to both new and continued entitlement programs and the continued growing of government. Certainly does not fit with the idea of economic conservatism of Dr. Paul which is cut taxes AND cut spending.

You can click on a candidate at the end to compare your answers to how they say the candidate would answer.KBCraig wrote:Oh, and I was most like Paul, least like Obama, assuming that they have correctly correlated the candidates' positions to my answers. Take the survey and look at the results and it should be clear.anygunanywhere wrote:You are going to have to explain that one to me. I did take it.
It told me I was a perfect match to marry Ron Paul if I was a woman and that any of the left wingers better steer clear of me if I woke up with a groutch on.

Overall, it showed me closest to Mitt Romney. On gun issues, though he was only 50%. McCain, Thompson, Paul, and Huckabee were all 100% on gun issues.

Re: Which candidate do you align with?/
Interestingly, it said I was closest to Rudy and Farthest from Obama. I was more economically to the right than any of the candidates, and just slightly closer to Rudy than Ron Paul on the social issues.
I did have some problems with some of the questions because my position was not clearly stated or not stated at all. For example, when asked if higher income people should have their medicare reduced, I had to answer no because if we give it, we should give to all evenly. But my real position is that we should do away with medicare completely and give to no one.
