Youth pastor & family-- UPDATE

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Youth pastor & family-- UPDATE

Post by Venus Pax »

About a month ago, the youth pastor at our church had back surgery.
Last night (Sat), he and his wife went to a local family game hall to play shuffle board. Before they left, he was assaulted by a drunk man. He was talking to his wife before going to the RR, and the man came up from the opposite side and knocked him six feet across the room; he was air-borne for awhile. He hit the floor on his head and back, where he underwent surgery a month ago.

Based on the MRIs, the doctors believe that his disk is now where is was BEFORE his original surgery. Basically, he's back at square one.

Needless to say, the family is angry and discouraged. He was healing up and making progress, and now this unprovoked attack has set him back where he was before. His wife and parents are exhausted.

Please pray that God heals his back. Mars and I are believing for a healing without surgery, as he's been through a lot already. Also, please lift up his family, as they are hurting right now for him.

Youth pastor's name is David.

Good grief Venus, that is terrible news.

To re-injure a recent back surgery such as that is very serious.

We will certainly pray for a good outcome.

Thank You, for lifting him up to prayer....and You and Mars are still on the list as well.

I will pray for him too as for you & Mars. Glad he is showing improvement.

Mind if I ask if the guy who assaulted him was arrested?

Will add an extra prayer for David, his family and the surgeon that day.

Yes, the guy who assaulted him was arrested. The family has pressed charges.
Unfortunately, neither of these two had their guns with them at the time; they were left in the car. (I think the place is 51%, since they serve alcohol.)

Youth pastor is back home today. He spent nearly two weeks in the hospital.
He had back surgery on Wednesday & is now "scootin' around" the house, as his wife says.

Please keep youth pastor and Mars in your prayers for a quick recovery. They're both wanting to get back to work. (And Mars says he wants to be able to drive a car like an adult again.)
