I'll be darned

Post by Armed-Texan »

talked to DPS today. i mailed my application on Feb 1. no PIN, no letter nada. today the guy tells me it is taking four to six weeks to be entered in the system. holy sheesh. so it has been five weeks now, thirty five days. i hope it doesn't take a full ninety days, twenty five more days will be excruciating. so after it is entered how long does it take? i'm dying here....

That's why people say to send it certified mail with a return receipt. The clock starts when DPS receives it but if you can't prove when they received it.............................

Good luck!

:headscratch great, this is going to take awhile. my neighbor who i took the class with, mailed his in and got his plastic in hand in almost exactly six weeks. granted he mailed his in november, but geez. i carry around the house to get used to it but have to go to the bedroom to disarm to leave the house. i know i can have it in my truck, i would just rather not bother in case i get pulled over by barney.

You can get a FL license. I hear they have a quick turnaround time.

Instructors are the ones preaching 60 days. They aren't issuing the PIN #s or the plastic, though. I pre-registered and already had PIN when I took class and it took 52 days for my status to be updated. Now I'm at 69 days and status still not completed. You should have your PIN by end of month and hopefully plastic by end of April. Sorry to be a :nono: downer.

For some reason, there is always a big surge of CHL students in January and February.

Don't know why, maybe New Year's resolutions. But, DPS always seems to get backed up in the first quarter of the year, then along about late spring, they catch up again.

Patience is a virtue, my friend. ;-)

How come I'm not getting that warm toasty feeling?
